idiot medicine
truth to slay the idiot within
Proverbs 26:3
“A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,
and a rod for the back of fools.”
Whip = Motivation
Do you need someone to motivate you, or does that fire burn within you?
Bridle = Taming
Will you get yourself in trouble without someone hovering over you?
Rod = Discipline
Do you need punishment to keep you from breaking the rules, or can you keep it between the ditches?
A note to Employees: Earn your freedom to run with humility, grit, excellence and being uber-responsible and impeccably reliable.
A note to Employers: Find thoroughbreds who do not need whips or bridles and who allow you to put away the Rod. Pay them a bunch of money.
If not, you’ll spend all your time on Micromanagement, Policy, Procedure, 100-lb Employee Handbooks, Excessive Rules, and Unnecessary Requirements to try and motivate, tame, and discipline the worst of your employees.
Thoroughbreds or Micromanagement, you can only pick one.
Grindforth!
