- About the Author
John Wiley Bryson is a leader, pastor, businessman, coach, and storyteller at heart. A native of Harlan, Kentucky, John grew up in the same hills and hardwood gyms that shaped Coach Billy Hicks. Their paths crossed early; first as coach and player, then as mentor and lifelong friends.
John has earned a Doctor of Leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. He also holds two Master’s degrees, one in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and another in Business Administration from the University of North Texas. His undergraduate days were spent at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, where he studied Accounting and Business Management.
He is the founding Pastor of Fellowship Memphis and lead writer and co-presenter of Authentic Manhood’s “33 the Series”, a series that helps men discover who they were meant to be, so they can do what God designed them to do.
With a wife of 30+ years being a proud father of six, no matter where he’s landed in his personal and professional life, his roots will always run deep in the Bluegrass State! He and his crew have recently relocated back home to Harlan, Kentucky, to continue their adventure called “life”. He is always up for a fishing trip, a round of golf, and guarantees a “yes” to anyone who can get him on Augusta National.
John is currently focused on writing, speaking, coaching, and consulting. He is a sports nut and rabid fan of UK Football (painful), UK Basketball (helps heal the football pain), UK Baseball, and all things Harlan Green Dragons, Memphis Grizzlies, and Dallas Cowboys (a second body blow of Fall / Winter pain).
His faith is central to his life and mission.
Soli Deo Gloria!
