idiot medicine
truth to slay the idiot within
Proverbs 3:5,6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.”
The second & third Bible verses I ever memorized.
An 18 year old me found this too good to be true.
Hard to believe.
How could God look into the chaos of my next 50 years…or with Keto and Crossfit, maybe 60 years…and make so many crooked paths, straight?
Why would he even care to make paths straight for my little, dinky life?
I don’t know. I’m at the age I don’t even care to know how or why.
All I can do is give witness to the fact that He does.
TRUST HIM.
One author suggests, trust is the single, greatest gift we can give to God.
Even more so than love.
Or maybe better said, trust is the ultimate expression of love.
I’ve found Him to be 100% trust-worthy.
Rarely early, but never late.
When you cannot trace His hand, you can trust His heart.
Maybe your prayer journal will start to look like mine, which has as the Title on the top of every page…
“Lord, help me know what it looks like to trust You in this situation”…,
followed by all my crooked, mostly self-created, messes and ditches where I desperately need help.
Trust Him.
Grindforth!
