hostility, favor, & moreover

“Instruct your people to ask their Egyptian neighbors, for silver and gold jewelry.

And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians.

Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people.”

Exodus 11:2,3

You have just been the messenger of nine plagues that decimated Egypt and the Egyptians.

You are, reluctantly, leading a civil war to free an oppressed people. Millions of them.

Pharoah has just issued a death threat on your life if he sees you again.

God tells you to instruct the millions of Israelites to ask their neighbors and everyone they know for the gold and silver jewelry.

Ask them to fund the revolution and fund the future celebratory worship of the one God, Jehovah.

As they ask, again reluctantly, God flexes.

God does His “only God” thing…favor. FAVOR!

He turns hearts. He inflames hearts. He can bend the heart of the oppressors to bless the oppressed.

He can and does do “exceeding, abundantly, more than we can ask or imagine.”

I cannot imagine God turning the heart of an enemy of His to not just no longer oppress, but beyond that, hand over their riches, gold and silver jewelry!

God moving on our behalf!

God moving beyond our imagination!

God doing more than we could even ask!

That’s my God!

Your neighbor, Coach, Boss, co-worker, government officials, crazy Uncle, whoever, every human…God can align their heart to yours in an instant and in a way that tremendously blesses your life and fuels God’s mission. He can move on them to help you.

That’s our God!

And…in a little “abundantly more” bonus, “Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharoah’s servants and in the sight of all the people.”

The enemies of God are not my enemies, they are tools in the hand of my Father to align all things in and through my life for His purposes.

Glory!

“The king’s heart is in the hand of God, like a stream of water, God turns it however He pleases.” Prov 21:1

Favor and Moreovers, long for it, ask for it, see it, bless God for it, and be grateful.

Grindforth!…with favor & moreovers

and remember God’s greatest favor and most incredible moreover is the gospel of Jesus. He lived a life you and I couldn’t, died a death we deserved, and defeated death, sin & Satan.

and if we trust that paragraph above, He takes all that Jesus accomplished and credits it to our account before God and declares us forever righteous. Happy Easter!
