from Approval, not for Approval

exodus 19

Moses and his people have just been repaired and prepared

they follow consultant Jethro’s advice and restructure the org chart

readied for what is next, a encounter with God

relocated to Mount Sinai

God says, “You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians,

and how I bore you on Eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.”

Obey My voice and keep My commandments

and you will be

My treasured possessions among the nations

for ALL the Earth is MINE

a Kingdom of Priest

a Holy Nation”

God tells Moses to prepare the people,

have them consecrate themselves and wash their garments

also God create a firm, clear boundary, no touching the mountain or you die

the people obey, consecrate & wash themselves,

God shows up in a thick cloud that covers Mount Sinai and with loud trumpet blasts

God brought the fire and the smoke. All the smoke

the Mountain trembled

the people trembled

and Moses went up the Mountain, by faith, in faith

Passages like these always leave me …

dialing down my anthropology and cranking up my doxology

God has always set the terms on how humans approach Him

“All roads lead to Heaven, right?”, ha, no.

One road leads to Heaven

all other roads lead to Hades

Praise God for Jesus

“I Am the way, the truth and the life, no one gets to the Father but through me”

Jesus consecrates us

Jesus washes us

Jesus piggy backs us up the Mountain to a powerful and holy God

right now at the Right Hand of God the Father Almight, interceding on our behalf

Glory

in Christ? if yes, then God no longer sees our bad deeds or “good deeds”

God looks at us and sees the perfect, finished work of Jesus

Jesus reconciles anthropology to doxology for those who transfer their trust from themselves to Jesus

10 Commandments come next, but the cleansing has already occurred

we pursue obedience from cleansing, not for cleansing

somebody help me

somebody hit that Hammond B

Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter

“God does not look down on the World and see good people and bad people, God looks down and sees bad people and Jesus covered people.”

Good Friday Meditation | “Why do bad things happen to good people? That only happened once, and He volunteered for it.”

Grindforth!…grace drenched & from approval not for approval.
