dangerous God

Exodus 12

Leaving Egypt, God did not lead the millions of Israelites the conventional route, the shortest route, or the easiest route…which would have been to and through the land of the Philistines. He had equipped them to route the Philistines, but God had other plans.

I’m learning, God is not much on conventional wisdom, shortest routes and dang sure is not into easy. Sometimes, even the blessings he has equipped me with my mind, my education, my experiences, my skills, He choses NOT to use.

He seems far more into my weaknesses, my failures, my pain, and my mistakes.

Ready for battle, standing tall on all God has entrusted to me,

God says, “I’ll pass”

Broken, needy, desperate, dependent, with seemingly impossible in front of me,

God says, “Now, we here, we ready”

God led them with a cloud by day and fire by night.

Make no mistake, He was leading them and making it as obvious as possible, follow the cloud, follow the fire…a 3 year old could get that and do that.

He led them “by way of the wilderness” and “toward the Red Sea”.

What ?!?! With our enslaved background, you pick wilderness?

Red Sea ?!?!?! You must be crazy, that is a suicide mission.

Those leading clouds and fire must have glitched. They have gone rogue.

For God to park millions of us in front of the Red Sea, was ludicrous.

Camped in front of the Red Sea, with non travelable mountains on one side, non traverable mountains on the other side a Red freaking Sea behind us and now…angry, revengeful, Egyptians racing towards us with chariots, horses, spears, clubs and arrows.

This is going to be a full on slaughter. They about to get Pulp Fictioned.

God led us into this mess. Why would he do that?

God is about to do something that they did not even know they could pray for, much less did pray for. God is going to go outside their “box” for His glory and their good.

God loves to stack the deck against Himself, then move miraculously.

God splits the Red Sea, every Israelite foot made it across.

Egyptians follow, God unsplits the Red Sea, every Egyptian killed.

Boom. Easy Peasy.

Are you a Christ Follower who seems to continually find yourself in Red Sea Moments?

Me too.

God will flex on your behalf. Just trust Him. Wait.

There will also be a “middle season” of actually walking across a gross, muddy, bottom of the ocean until you get to the other side. It is scary too. Are those waves gonna hold?

“Aslan is a Lion, the Lion, the great Lion.” “Ooh” said Susan. “Is he quite safe?”

“Safe?” said Mr Beaver, “Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he is not safe.

“But He is good. He’s the King, I tell you.” C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe

Aslan is on the move!

Grindforth!…in the danger God will lead you to and through!

Following 31 years of Pastoral Ministry, I have shifted my focus to coaching leaders and writing.

My clients include small business owners, pastors, boards, non-profit leaders, and a C-level executive.

I am coaching one leader who desires to see a movement of men mobilized, connected, and unleashed in his city.

Another I am coaching wants to see his small business triple revenue over the next 5 years and prepare for a cash event/sale.

Another is a high-ranking GM executive in China, tasked with making Cadillac the number #1 brand in China. I am helping him with some stateside real estate.

I am a “brain for hire”. I am having a blast. Would love to help you!

Initial consults are always FREE, I’m your huckleberry (RIP Doc Holliday)
