Welp, I did a thing. With tons of help from so many.

It’s finally finished. After hours and hours of interviewing fascinating people, months and months of writing, 11 rounds of edits, enduring Amazon’s hoops to jump through…”Billy” is now published and available for sale.

It was one of the highest privileges of my life to get to capture and tell the story of my High School Basketball Coach, Billy Hicks.

I get to brag on Harlan, tell the story and history of Eastern Kentucky, tell of Coach Hicks’ earliest “Ages Bottom” years, talk about the history of Kentucky High School Basketball, dive deep into Ages, Evarts, Harlan, Corbin and Scott County.

My hope for the book…that every kid in the world will get to experience a coach (or band director, club leader, teacher) just like Billy Hicks.
